Power Flushing
Power flushing,
from £500 in Belfast.
A full chemical flush of your central heating system. Restores hot radiators, cuts your gas bill and protects your boiler warranty.
Why flush
The signs your system needs it.
Sludge, rust and debris build up in every central heating system. Over time they block narrow pipework and heat exchangers, killing performance.
- 01 Radiators cold at the bottom, hot at the top.
- 02 Some radiators don't heat up at all, or heat up last.
- 03 Boiler is noisy, banging, kettling, tapping.
- 04 Heating takes a long time to come up to temperature.
- 05 Gas or oil bills have crept up year on year.
- 06 Hot water runs lukewarm even when heating is on.
- 07 Black or rust-coloured water when you bleed a radiator.
- 08 New boiler fitted to an old system, flush is often required to protect the warranty.
The process
What a power flush actually involves.
Six steps, normally completed in a single day on domestic systems.
- 01 Connect our flushing rig to your system at the boiler or a radiator tail.
- 02 Circulate a cleaning chemical through the whole system under pressure.
- 03 Isolate and agitate each radiator in turn to lift debris.
- 04 Discharge the dirty water and refill with fresh water plus inhibitor.
- 05 Refit the system, check pressures, and balance the radiators.
- 06 Leave a written report and a certificate for your boiler warranty.

Questions
Power flushing FAQ.
How much does a power flush cost in Belfast?
Indicative pricing on our network: £500–£700 for a system with up to 8 radiators, £700–£900 for 9–12 radiators. Power flushing bundled with a new boiler install is typically £100–£200 cheaper because the installer is already on site. All prices include VAT and inhibitor.
How long does a power flush take?
A typical domestic power flush takes 4–6 hours on the day. Large systems or heavy sludge can extend that. The installer agrees the time upfront before starting.
Will a power flush damage my boiler or radiators?
No. A correctly performed flush uses system-safe chemicals and pressures well within normal operating limits. The installer checks for leaks at the start and is responsible for any damage caused by their work.
How do I know if I need one?
The clearest signs are cold spots on radiators, noisy boilers and slow heat-up. If you're fitting a new boiler, nearly every manufacturer requires a clean system to keep the warranty valid.
Does a power flush guarantee results?
In most cases a proper flush restores full circulation. If the problem turns out to be something a flush can't fix (failed pump, blocked heat exchanger, undersized radiators), the installer flags it before starting and quotes the real fix.
Do you flush oil and gas systems?
Yes. Installers flush both and installers service both, so installers on the network are familiar with the quirks of each. Warmflow, Grant, Worcester and Firebird systems included.
